How to reach Ajdovščina?
Coming by car take the highway Ljubljana – Razdrto – Nova Gorica, exit Ajdovščina, or arriving by bus go through Postojna to Ajdovščina.
From Italy: take the highway Nova Gorica – Ljubljana, exit Ajdovščina or the regional road Nova Gorica – Ajdovščina.
By plane get to the Ljubljana airport, from there you take a taxi to the Ljubljana Bus Station, where you catch the bus for Ajdovščina.
By plane get to the Airport of Trieste / Ronchi (Italy), and then take the taxi to Ajdovščina.
By plane get to the Venice Airport (Italy), where you catch the bus for Mestre (Italy), and from there the train to Gorizia (Italy) and get by taxi to Ajdovščina.

In Ajdovščina you can visit two galleries, namely the Lokarjeva galerija Ajdovščina and the ‘Pilonova galerija Ajdovščina’, the remains of the late Roman settlement Castra, the old settlement Šturje, the source of the river Hubelj. Not far from there you can admire the picturesque medieval town Vipavski Križ with its rich monastery library, then the town of Vipava and its baroque mansion Lantieri, the source of the river Vipava, the mansion Zemono between Vipava and Ajdovščina, and you can enjoy some gorgeous panoramic views, as the one from the top of the mount Gora ‘Sinji vrh na Gori’ or the stone window at Otlica …
In the town of Nova Gorica you can visit the Town Gallery, the Museum of the castle Kromberk, the tomb of the last kings of France, the Bourbons, and the library of the monastery Kostanjevica, or you may ascend the sacred mountain Sveta gora, relax on the terrace of the kayaking center by the river Soca and enjoy in the marvellous view of the famous bridge of Solkan, to mention just some of the possible entertainments.
Vipava is known for its autochthonous wines such as Zelen, Pinela, Klarnica, Vitovska grganja, praised already by our well-known 17th century natural historian Valvasor, so enjoy some wine tasting in the local winery (Tilia estate, etc.).
